Scorpion Gourmet FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)

Products

What ingredients are used in each Scorpion Gourmet sauce?

Each sauce in our Original collection is built around the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper, combined with a curated blend of vinegar, garlic, salt, and natural spices. Exact ingredient lists vary by heat level and are printed on every bottle. We use real, recognizable ingredients — nothing artificial.

Are there any allergens in the sauces or the production environment?

Our sauces are free from the most common allergens including dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten. However, because our products are made in a shared production facility, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. If you have a specific allergy concern, contact us at scorpiongourmet@gmail.com and we'll provide full details about our production environment.

How do the heat levels differ, and how should each one be used?

Our Original collection includes four heat levels. Mild delivers a subtle warmth — great as an everyday table sauce on eggs, sandwiches, and grilled chicken. Medium brings a noticeable kick without overwhelming, perfect for tacos, stir-fry, and marinades. Hot builds real intensity and pairs well with heartier dishes like wings, burgers, and chili. Extra Hot is made for serious heat lovers — use it sparingly as a finishing sauce or mix it into recipes where you want the scorpion pepper's full power to come through.

Are Scoville ratings available?

We're currently working on formal Scoville testing for each SKU. In the meantime, our heat levels are crafted on a relative scale — Mild, Medium, Hot, and Extra Hot — so you can easily find your comfort zone. The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper itself can reach over 2 million SHU, but our sauces are blended and balanced so the flavor always leads.

What is the shelf life of each product?

Unopened, our sauces have a shelf life of approximately 18–24 months from the production date. Every bottle is stamped with a best-by date. Once opened, we recommend using within 6 months for the best flavor and quality.

How should the sauces be stored after opening?

Refrigerate after opening. While the vinegar and natural acidity help preserve the sauce, refrigeration keeps the flavor, color, and consistency at their best. This depends on preference, if you do want to keep the sauce room temperature, the sauces will still maintain their freshness. Ensure you shake throughly.

Are the sauces vegan, non-GMO, or free from artificial additives?

Yes to all three. Our sauces contain no animal products, no GMO ingredients, and no artificial preservatives, colors, or flavors.

Are any certifications associated with the products?

We're in the process of pursuing relevant certifications as we scale production. If you have questions about specific dietary or compliance standards, reach out to us at scorpiongourmet@gmail.com and we'll share exactly where we stand.

Company & Sustainability

Where are your ingredients sourced from?

We source our peppers and produce from trusted growers, prioritizing quality and consistency. Our Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers come from farms that specialize in superhot varieties. Where possible, we work with domestic suppliers to keep our supply chain tight and traceable.

Where are Scorpion Gourmet products manufactured?

Scorpion Gourmet products are manufactured in a licensed, food-safe production facility in Texas using a hot-fill acidified process. We partner with professional co-packers who meet our standards for quality, safety, and consistency.

What sustainability practices does the company follow?

We're committed to building responsibly as we grow. That includes minimizing waste in our production process, sourcing domestically where feasible to reduce transportation impact, and making packaging decisions with sustainability in mind. As a growing company, we plan to formalize and expand our sustainability commitments as we scale.

What is the story behind Scorpion Gourmet?

Scorpion Gourmet was founded in Texas with a simple conviction: hot sauce should deliver serious heat without sacrificing flavor. We built the brand around the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper — one of the hottest in the world — and designed a four-tier lineup so everyone from casual spice fans to die-hard heat chasers has a seat at the table. We're a small team with big ambitions, and every bottle reflects our obsession with getting it right.

What principles guide product development and sourcing?

Three things drive every decision: flavor first, clean ingredients, and honest heat. We don't chase trends or cut corners. Every recipe is developed to let the natural character of the scorpion pepper shine, and we never use artificial additives or fillers. If it doesn't meet our standard, it doesn't leave the facility.

Do I need an account to place an order?

No — you can check out as a guest. Creating an account lets you track orders, save your shipping information, and get early access to new drops and promotions, but it's completely optional.
